Abstract:
Based on the theory of “stimulus-response-behavior” , hometown sentiment and value perception were incorporated into the analytical framework, and 311 field research data of rural residents in Fujian Province were used to investigate the effects of hometown sentiment and value perception on rural residents’ household waste sorting behavior. The results showed that: hometown sentiment and value perception both had a positive promotion effects on rural residents’ household waste classification behavior. It was further found that, ecological value perception and social value perception played a positive mediating role in aspect of the influence exerted by hometown sentiment on rural residents’ household waste sorting behavior. In view of this, it was proposed to deepen rural residents’ hometown sentiment and create a close-knit rural atmosphere; to improve the perceived value of rural residents’ household waste classification behavior and guide rural residents to actively participate in household waste classification; and to increase the participation in garbage classification in rural areas and effectively improve the rural human environment.
