Abstract:
The coordinated development of rural revitalization and new urbanization is an important impetus to narrow the gap between urban and rural development and realize the co-prosperity of urban and rural areas. Based on the relevant time series data of Yunnan Province from 2008 to 2019, the paper constructs its comprehensive evaluation index system of rural revitalization and new-type urbanization, the coupling coordination level and driving mechanism between them are analyzed by using the coupling coordination degree and Tobit model. The results show that the level of rural revitalization and new-type urbanization in Yunnan Province generally shows an upward trend, the coupling degree is at the medium coupling level, and the range is small, while the coupling coordination degree shows an upward trend year by year, achieved from a high degree of maladjustment to the initial coordination of the span. In the analysis of driving mechanism, technology-driven, government-driven and industry-driven have positive effects on rural revitalization and new urbanization in Yunnan Province, while consumption-driven and investment-driven have negative effects. Based on the research conclusion, it is proposed that we should adhere to the principle of coordinated development between urban and rural areas, balance the development status of urban and rural areas, and promote the free flow and rational allocation of resource elements between urban and rural areas, suggestions on increasing input of technological innovation to foster new driving force for urban and rural economic development.
