Abstract: Colleges and universities in frontier ethnic regions promote XI Jinping thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era into the mind and heart, which is an important strategic task to promote national unity and social harmony and stable development. Currently, colleges and universities in the southwest frontier ethnic regions have problems of “dual main body” , effectiveness, and support for online learning publicity and education. New changes in the network and new media environment in the new era require colleges and universities to give full play to the technological advantages of new network media technology in the dissemination of scientific theories, starting from the construction of mechanisms, focusing on needs, giving full play to advantages, building platforms, and enhancing collaboration, so as to build and improve college students’ understanding of XI Jinping. The theoretical consciousness of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era has promoted XI Jinping’ s online learning and publicity education of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the southwest border ethnic regions to achieve practical results.
