The Regional Difference Measurement and Convergence of Educational Assistance Efficiency:An Example from the Data of Overcome Poverty Population in the Ethnic and Border Area of Yunnan

  • Taking the full sample data of out of poverty population in the ethnic and border area of Yunnan Province as the research object, the non-radial SBM-DEA model was used to measure and evaluate the efficiency of education assistance in 8 states of Yunnan. On this basis, the spatial auto-correlation analysis method and absolute convergence were used to explore the spatial correlation, difference and convergence in the efficiency of education assistance in the ethnic and border area of Yunnan. The research results showed that, the overall efficiency of education assistance in the ethnic and border area of Yunnan was not high and needs to be improved; in terms of spatial correlation, the efficiency of education assistance was highly positively correlated, and high-efficiency areas were highly concentrated, and their demonstration leadership was obvious; in terms of convergence, there was absolute convergence in the efficiency of education assistance in Yunnan, Northwest Yunnan and South Yunnan, that was, the efficiency of education assistance in various regions would eventually converge. The research results were of great significance in assisting the government to revise and improve the relevant policies of education assistance in accordance with the heterogeneity of regions, and target and accurately promote the level of education development in areas with low efficiency and low convergence speed.
