Preliminary Identification of the Root-knot Nematode from Tobacco in Kunming Region

  • PurposeWith the change of principal cultivated varieties, the species of root-knot nematodes that endanger tobaccos could be changed. In order to master the species of root-knot nematodes occurring on tobacco-growing areas in Kunming and provide the theoretical basis for the control of root-knot nematodes, the species, which occurred on Kunming areas, were identified tentatively.MethodAccording to the identification of plant parasitic nematodes, 26 root-knot nematodes on tobacco crops collected from one city (Anning City) and seven counties (Shilin County, Xundian County, Luquan County, Yiliang County, Jinning County, Songmin County, Fumin County) in Kunming region were identified by using the methods of perineal patterns of female, Molecular biological testing(sequence characterized amplified region, SCAR).ResultsThe results showed that there were the fourteen samples among them belonging to M. arenaria populations, five samples belonging to M. javanica populations, four belonging to M. incognita populations, and three were the metapopulation of M. arenaria and M. javanica.Conclusion In this study,we identified the species of root-knot nematodes which endanger tobaccos in Kunming.
