Abstract
Purpose In this work, the effect of magnesium fertilizer on the main chemical compositions and organic acids content in flue-cured tobacco leaves was investigated in Panzhihua tobacco planting areas.Method The field experiment was randomly divided different small field, which was setup five levels of magnesium (0, 50, 75, 100, 125kg/hm2).Results The results indicated that when magnesium application level was 75-100kg/hm2, the content of the main chemical compositions of tobacco leaf were suitable and most close to the appropriate content of high quality tobacco. Compared with CK, the content of the non-volatile organic acids in upper and middle leaves increased by 9.31% and 7.06%, respectively, when magnesium application level was 100-125kg/hm2. Moreover, the content of the higher fatty acids in upper and middle leaves increased by 11.5% and 16.1%, respectively. Conclusion Thus, the application of 100kg/hm2 magnesium fertilizer had positive effect on coordinating the chemical compositions and promoting the increase of the organic acids content. This study will provide the scientific basis for the application of magnesium fertilizer in Panzhihua area.
