Abstract
Purpose Our aim was to study the effect of exogenous NO to the germination and the regulation of endogenous hormone contents in Siberia Lily.Method We used 5 different concentration gradients exogenous NO donor solutions, including 0, 1, 5, 10, 20 mmol/L, and 0.5 mmol/L NO scavenger to treat the small lily bulbs for 30 days. Results NO had influence on the germination and growth of lily bulbs, 10 mmol/L SNP solution was the most obvious one that the germination rate, bud length, root length and bulbs weight of the lily bulbs were generally higher than those of the control and other treatments; high concentration NO (20 mmol/L), low concentration NO (1 mmol/L) and the inhibition of NO treatments inhibited the germination and growth of lily bulblet. We found that ABA content decreased, while GA and IAA contents showed an obvious increasing trend during the germination and growth process of lily bulblet compared with CK.Conclusion The results showed that it can be concluded that the appropriate concentration of exogenous NO can promote the germination of lily bulb, and exogenous NO has a promoting effect on the germination of lily bulbs.
