Yield, Quality and Efficiency of Different Bee Pollination on Greenhouse Strawberry in Chongqing

  • Purpose The aim was to study the effects of different bee pollination on Chongqing greenhouse strawberry.Method A comparative study was made on the yield, fruit shape, malformation rate, quality and economic efficiency of Apis cerana cerana, Apis mellifera ligustica and Bombus terrestris on greenhouse strawberry in Rongchang Chongqing.Results The result showed that the yields of strawberries pollinated by A. mellifera ligustica and B. terrestris increased 50.12% and 41.33% compared to A. cerana cerana (PA. mellifera ligustica was significantly higher than other groups (PB. terrestris and control (PA. cerana cerana could significantly increase the content of vitamin C in strawberries which compared with B. terrestris and control (PB. terrestris was significantly higher than A. cerana cerana and control (PPA. mellifera ligustica and B. terrestris could largely increased the economic efficiency of strawberries in Chongqing. The yield efficiency of strawberries pollinated by A. mellifera ligustica and B. terrestris was much higher than A. cerana cerana.Conclusion According to the pollinators' cost, the study suggested that A. mellifera ligustica pollination was more suitable for greenhouse strawberry in Chongqing.
