Effects of Plastic Film Mulching in Intercropping Potato on Soil Temperature, Moisture and Its Yield

  • The effects of different plastic film mulching of potato on soil temperature, moisture and its yield were studied by field experiment in potato and maize intercropping system. The results showed that the film mulching could increase the soil water content and the soil temperature in the pre-growth period of potato, and significantly increase the yield of potato (P0.01). Under the condition of intercropping with maize, white film mulching had the best effect on water retention, and potato yield was the best, followed by black film mulching. The soil temperature during the period from the seedling stage to tuber formation was higher than that of the control. After potato tuber enlargement, the soil temperature of white plastic mulching was significantly lower than that of other treatments (P0.05). In potato and maize intercropping system, the potato was mulched with white plastic film, and its yield was better than that of black plastic film and degradable plastic film.
