The Effectors of Marigold Rotation and Intercropping with Angelica on the Control of Root-knot Nematode Disease

  • The root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) has seriously affected the production of the Chinese angelicaAngelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels in Zhanyi County, Yunnan Province. In order to explore the safe and effective ways of control this disease,we used the nematode-antagonism during 2012 to 2013 in Zhanyi,to evaluate the potential usage of planting marigold with angelica on control of rootk-knot nematodes. At the same time, we investigated the population dynamics of root-knot nematodes, disease index and yield of angelica. The results showed that both the rotation and intercropping models could effectively control root-knot nematode disease. Control effect of crop rotation reached 49.53% and the value of two years' yields was 81 769.20 yuan/hm;and the row intercropping control effect got 27.27%~36.36%, the maximum value of the yield could achieve 42 674.55 yuan/hm2. By comparing the field actual operations, the capital investment, and the control effect of two planting models, the results showed that the rotation cropping model was more suitable to control the root-knot nematode disease on Chinese angelica.
