Preliminary Study on Screening of Resistant Root-knot Nematode Disease Cultivars and Field Application Evaluation of Carbofuran

  • Potato root-knot nematode disease is a classical soil-spread disease which is caused by Meloidogyne spp.and has a significant impact on potato root and tuber. It badly affects the appearance and quality of potato tuber. This disease will spread by infected rubber. The cultivars resistant to root-knot nematode disease were screened and field evaluation of Carbofuran was carried out for disease control. We screened out 6 potato high resistant cultivars including 'Zhongshu 20','Xuanshu 5','Yunshu 401','Huishu 9','Jizhangshu 8','Yunshu 801' in 31 different cultivars through the field experiments. The results revealed that the disease infection rate of 'Xuanshu 2' declined by 49.51% and the control effect was 71.97% with the application of Carbofuran. There was no residual amount of pesticide 191 days after Carbofuran application.
