Correlation Analysis between Moisture of Total Particulate Matter of Polysaccharide Filter and Cigarette Humectant

  • In order to study the correlation analysis between moisture of total particulate matter of polysaccharide filter and cigarette humectant, 11 kinds of plant polysaccharide were added to the filter. The correlation analysis between the cigarette humectant and the change range of moisture content of TPM, moisture/TPM, moisture/tar, moisture/nicotine were discussed. The results indicated that it was unconnected between the moisture content in TPM and moist feeling in mainstream cigarette smoke when the humectant was used in filter, however, significant positive correlation between the change range of moisture/nicotine and the effects on maintaining the moisture content was exist. Moreover, the ratio of moisture/nicotine and moist feeling kept increasing while decreasing of the moisture/nicotine ratio, conversely. This study can be guaranteed for application evaluation of cigarette humectant.
