Study on the Ecological Characteristics of Ophiocordyceps lanpingensis H Yu ZH Chen

  • Ophiocordycep lanpingensis H Yu ZH Chen is a newly found closely related species of Ophiocordycep sinensis (Berk.) G.H.Sung, J.M. Sung, Hywel-Jones Spatafora and has high medicinal value. It is necessary to strengthen the protective research of O. lanpingensis because its wild resource is decreasing. We investigated the ecological characteristics of O. lanpingensis from the aspects of elevation, exposure, soil, humiture, vegetation, and food of the host. The results showed that O. lanpingensis mainly distribute in mountain-grasses of 2600~3400m elevation over Hengduan Mountains Region, usually patchy in distribution. The soil is mainly brown or black brown, loose, mild acid, with lower water content. The foods of Hepialus yunnanensis Yang, Li Shen were diverse, mainly relied on green rootstock of herbaceous plants such as Artemisia argyi Levl. Vant., Iris bulleyana Dykes.f bullegana, Sambucus adnata Wall., Fragaria nilgerrensis Schlecht. Gay., Cirsium taliense (Jeffrey) Lvl., and occasionally on humus of litter layer. The insects and pathogenic microbes in the habits might be the factors to regulate the ecological balance of Hepialus larva. The study would provide reference for the simulation-forestry ecology cultivation and the resources protection of O. lanpingensis.
