Abstract
The ecological behavior of invasive species in the initial stages after introduction has received little study. The Shore of Dianchi Lake is the new invasive area of Solidago canadensis (Canadian goldenrod) in Yunnan Province. Firstly, we did a field investigation in 2014 to explore the distribution and community ecology of S.canadensis following its introduction on the shore of Dianchi Lake. The results showed that three years after introduction, the distribution of S.canadensis is limited to Dayu wetland, Hui Bay, Sanhe wetland, and Fangzi Bay, appearing only in pits containing Taxodium hybrid Zhongshanshan, with cover ranging from 9.14% to 20.71%.Second, We examined 120 samples to plant species, quantity and coverage in Dayu wetland and Hui Bay, lit showed that distribution pattern did not change from vegetative period to flowering to fruiting, but the area of distribution gradually decreased.S.canadensis showed ability to coexist with Equisetum arvense and Alternanthera philoxeroides. In the vegetative period of S.canadensis, the diversity of other species in the quadrats was significantly lower than in quadrats without S.canadensis.Our conclusion is S.canadensis appearing only in pits containing Taxodium hybrid Zhongshanshan, but it can stabilize growth and gradually small scale to spread outward links for larger plaques based its strong root suckers ability, and species diversity of its distribution area is low, potential ecological harm should not allow to ignore, need special attention.
