Study on Photosynthetic Characteristics of Hybrid Rice Bijingyou210 and Its Parents

  • To study photosynthetic characteristics in rice varieties NR210, Bijing2A and their hybrid progenies Bijingyou210, the spectrophotometer and LI-6400XT portable photosynthesis system were used for the determination of chlorophyll and photosynthetic indexes.The results showed that chlorophyll a content of flag leaves in Bijingyou210 was 20.28% and 7.99% higher than that in Bijing2A andNR210, respectively, while the chlorophyll b content in Bijingyou210 was 53.70% and 12.16% higher than Bijing2A and NR210.Also, the net photosynthetic rate (Pn) in Bijingyou210 was 19.88% and 21.87% higher than that in Bijing2A and NR210, while the water use efficiency (WUE) in Bijingyou210 was 58.98% and 16.34% higher than that in Bijing2A and NR210, respectively. Moreover, the minimal fluorescence (Fo), maximal fluorescence (Fm), electron transfer rate (ETR), the photochemistry activity of PSII (PSII) in Bijingyou210 was higher than the parents significantly.And the maximal photosynthetic efficiency (Fv/Fm) and non-photochemical quenching (NPQ) in Bijingyou210 were 15.87% and 18.18% higher than those in Bijing2A.We concluded that the hybrid progenies Bijingyou210 of NR210 and Bijing2A could enhance the photosynthesis productivity by improving the photosynthetic capacity.
