Abstract
In the present study, the effect of panaxadiol ginsenosides (PDG) and panaxatriol ginsenosides (PTG) on the conidia or sclerotium germination and fungal growth of Cercosporella brassicae and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum was studied. Results showed that the effect of different PDG and PTG on C. brassicae was almost similar with that of S. sclerotiorum. In 24 h, PDG and PTG had stimulatory effects on colony growth of two pathogens, especially at low concentration. As time went on, PDG and PTG showed inhibitory effects, and the inhibitory effect increased gradually. The colony growth was significantly inhibited at high concentration. PDG and PTG had stimulatory effects at low concentrations but at higher concentrations they had inhibitory effects on the conidia germination of C.brassica and the sclerotium germination of S.sclerotiorum.High concentration of PTG has the potential to control C. brassicae and high concentration of PTG has the potential to control S. sclerotiorum.
