Abstract
In this study,we analyzed the needle phenotypic variation of Pinus yunnanensis natural populations at three different altitudes in three locations of Yunnan Province, investigate the level of needle phenotypic diversity by using ANOVA analysis and correlation analysis. The results showed that there were significant differences in phenotypic variation in all needle phenotypic traits among populations and within population. The mean phenotypic differentiation coefficient(VST)was 29.96%,which was less than that of within populations (70.04%);Coefficient of variation (CV) of all traits ranged from 13.63% to 35.09%,with a mean of 24.93% in Lijiang. The mean VST was 26.74%,which was less than that of within populations(73.26%);CV of all traits was from 11.96% to 37.19%,with the average of 24.18% in Ninglang. The mean VST was 27.79%,which was less than that of within populations(72.21%);CV of all traits varied from 14.28% to 41.3%,with an average of 23.41% in Yuanmou.Shannon-Wiener of the nine different populations was 1.940 3,and which showed that there was higher phenotypic diversity in populations of P.yunnanensis.Correlation analysis showed that P.yunnanensis phenotypic traits and phenotypic diversity index was no significant relation with altitude.
