Study on Phenolic Compounds from Tobacco Leaves

  • The chemical constituents of tobacco leaves of 'Honghuadajinyuan' from Yunnan were studied by using the chromatography techniques.Seven phenolic compounds were isolated and purified.Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopy analysis(NMR) together with their physical and chemical properties.These seven compounds were identified as pinoresinol,syringaresinol,caffeic acid methyl ester,syringic aldehyde,acetovanillone,2,4-dihydroxyacetophenone,4-hydroxyace-tophenone.Compounds of 1,2,4, 6,7 were isolated from tobacco leaves for the first time.
