Finite Element Analysis on Wheat Thresher's Centrifugal Fan Impeller Based on ANSYS Workbench

  • Centrifugal fan is widely used in agricultural production. The impeller is one of the main components of the wind turbine and has a great influence on the performance of fan impeller. We took the wheat thresher's centrifugal fan impeller as the research object. The simplified 3D model of the wheat thresher's centrifugal fan impeller was built by Creo, and then imported into finite element analysis software ANSYS Workbench in the form of IGS for static analysis and modal analysis. The equivalent stress nephogram and strain nephogram of the impeller on working could be obtained by static analysis, and they illustrated that the maximum stress was 204.2MPa occurred in the joint of shaft shoulder and the inside welding of wheel and blades, which was smaller than the material's yield strength whose value is 420MPa. The modal analysis was carried out to obtain the natural frequencies and the vibration-made vectors of the first 8 orders, and it illustrated that impeller's interference frequency whose value was 21.82Hz and was smaller than the natural frequencies. Through the above analysis, we can know that the impeller is safe in the normal operating. The finite element analysis by using Creo and ANSYS Workbench which can not only reduce the calculation time, but also improve the accuracy of analysis provides a theoretical basis for the optimization design.
