Abstract
For exploring the allelopathic effect of Cymbopogon citratus on tobacco in their intercropping system, this research used three treatments with different concentration(12.5, 25.0,50.0mg/mL)of C.citratus aqueous extract and the control(0mg/mL) to study their allelopathic effect on seed germination, growth of seedling and plant of tobacco. The results showed that the lower concentration of aqueous extract could inhibit seed germination energy, and it had no influence to the final germination percentage and no significant difference between treatment and control on the growth of seedling and plant. The higher concentration of aqueous extract could inhibit seed germination significantly even to 0 when the concentration was up to 50mg/mL, while it could inhibited the growth of seedling and plant significantly. This research has theoretic and practical significance to explore the intercropping between C.citratus and tobacco or other plants.
