Abstract
Study on the effect of successive rearing on the development duration of Bactrocera correcta was conducted in laboratory. The results showed that the development duration of B.correcta increased with the increase of successive rearing generations. There was no significant difference for the eggs, the larvae duration from the 1st to the 3rd instars and the pupa duration of B.correcta from 1st to 15th generations(egg stage: F =1.04, P0.05; larvae stage:1st instars: F =0.65, P 0.05; 2nd instars:F =0.83, P0.05;3rd instars:F =0.58,P0.05;pupa duration:F =0.36,P0.05).The premating duration (F =5.15,P 0.01), the time interval of the first mating to the first oviposition (F =2.12,P 0.05) and the pre-oviposition period (F =2.88,P 0.01) of B.correcta increased gradually with the increase of successive rearing generations, after 15 generations of successive rearing. All the results showed that the population of guava fruit flies would decrease with the increase of the rearing generations in the laboratory.
