Study on Shade Tolerance of Three Potato Varieties under the Artificial Shading

  • The physiological and biochemical resilience indexes in leaves of potatoHui-2, Huishu 9 and P02-77-10 were measured under the artificial shading in different growth periods of potato. The result showed that the relative electrolytic leaking (REL), malondialdehyde (MDA) content, chlorophyll a (Chla) and chlorophyll b (Chlb) contents, the activities of peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) significantly increased, but proline (Pro) content and Chla/Chlb decreased in the leaves from the tuber expansion to harvest. These indexes value increased in varying degrees with the development of extended shade time. The comprehensive evaluation result by principal component analysis and subordinate function methods showed that the order of shade tolerance was Hui-2 P02-77-10 Huishu 9.
