Effects of Different Media on Inducing and Propagating Adventitious Buds of Moringa oleifera Lam.

  • Using the epicotyls of the aseptic seedlings for materials, we discussed the effects of different culture media on inducing and propagating adventitious buds of Moringa oleifera Lam. The results showed that both of MS+6-BA 0.5 mg/L and MS+6-BA 0.1 mg/L+NAA 0.01 mg/L were suitable for M. oleifera to induce and propagate adventitious buds, and the latter was the best one. On this medium every epicotyl could induce(4.01.6)adventitious buds, and every adventitious bud could propagate(4.41.7) buds, and the average height of the buds could reach to (2.290.61)cm. This study provides the scientific basic for asexual propagation and tissue culture plantlet production of M. oleifera good varieties.
