Abstract
With pancreatic peptone, yeast powder, mango and cane sugar as the main nutrients, which were made into three kinds of artificial feed for Bactrocera correcta (Bezzi) adults. We used single female spawning and hatching rate as indicators to determine the optimal feed formula for B. correcta adult. The results showed that: fed with formula A, the fecundity per female of the 1st and 6th generations was 857.40±48.45 and 711.83±8.35, respectively; the difference between these two generations was not significant. Fed by formula C, the fecundity per female of the 1st and 6th generations was 941.37±46.16 and 825.68 ±16.38; the difference between these two generations was also not significant. The hatching rates of the 1st and 6th generation of B.correcta which adults fed by formula A were (88.17±1.42)% and (85.58±1.58)%, respectively and the difference was not significant. As to formula C, the hatching rates of the 1st,2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th generations were little different, while there was a significant difference between the hatching rates of the 1st and 5th generations. So the results of experiment showed that both feed formula A and C could be used as artificial feed for B.correcta (Bezzi) adults, and feed formula A was slightly better than feed formula C.
