Screening, Identification and Application Effect of Deodorizing Bacteria

  • Purpose To screen high-efficiency deodorizing strains, providing new strain resources for the development of high-efficiency deodorizing microbial preparations.
Methods Through primary screening for NH3 degradation and secondary screening for NH3 and H2S, strains with strong deodorizing activity were screened from 319 endophytic bacteria isolated from mangrove plants. Their biological characteristics, physiological and biochemical features and 16S rDNA gene were analyzed and identified to evaluate their deodorizing effects on domestic waste and livestock and poultry manure.
Results A total of three bacteria with strong deodorizing activity were screened. The three bacteria were identified as Bacillus tequilensis (YZS-C01), Pseudomonas putida (ZTB-A29) and Alcaligenes faecalis (QQB-A05), respectively. The deodorization effects of the three bacteria on domestic waste showed that: the removal rate of NH3 and H2S by YZS-C01 was 86.42% and 81.35%, respectively; the removal rate of NH3 and H2S by ZTB-A29 was 83.21% and 78.96%, respectively; the removal rate of NH3 and H2S by QQB-A05 was 85.27% and 79.83%, respectively. In the deodorization test of livestock and poultry manure, all three bacteria had significant deodorization effects.
Conclusion The three bacteria screened from the endophytic bacteria of mangrove plants all have strong deodorizing activity, which provide new strain resources for the development of efficient deodorant microbial preparations.
