Abstract
Microplastics (MPs) come from the degradation of plastics and distribute widely in the environment, due to the small particles, strong chemical stability, strong adsorption and other characteristics. Agricultural film mulching, fertilizer application and farmland irrigation are common in agriculture, which will cause a large number of microplastics input, resulting in certain impacts and potential threats to soil ecosystem. To deepen the understanding of the current situation of microplastic pollution in farmland soil and better prevent its ecological risks, this study reviewed the sources, pollution status, migration and degradation mechanism of microplastics in farmland soil and their effects on soil ecosystem, providing the direction and ideas for the future research of soil microplastics based on a summary of current research.
