Abstract
Sclerotinia rot, caused by the fungus Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, is a broad spectrum plant disease that causes enormous economic losses worldwide. Biocontrol has become an important strategy for integrated management of plant diseases, as the development of biocontrol technology. This review provides an overview of the current status of sclerotinia rot management, focusing on the research progress of biocontrol of sclerotinia rot, and presents a systematic elucidation of the mechanisms and effectiveness of different antagonistic fungi, bacteria, mycovirus, botanical fungicides and organic soil amendments in the control of sclerotinia rot. The problems in biocontrol research and application processes are discussed, and foreground for the future development direction and application of biocontrol microorganisms and natural plant resources are prospected, in order to provide references for the safe and effective control measures against sclerotinia rot in the future.
