PurposeTo study the potential distribution area of Diaphorina citri in Yunnan Province, and to determine the key environmental parameters to limit the survival and spread of D. citri.
MethodBased on the record of geographic distribution, MaxEnt niche model software was used to divide the most suitable areas of D. citri in Yunnan and determine the main environmental limiting factors affecting the distribution of D. citri.
ResultsThe highest fitness areas of D. citri were mainly distributed in the middle and low altitude areas with an altitude of 200-1800 m in the six major river basins of Yunnan. Mean temperature of coldest quarter and annual mean temperature were the main limiting factors affecting the distribution of D. citri in Yunnan, while the high altitude areas (above 1800 m) with an annual average temperature below 15 ℃ and average temperature lower than 10 ℃ in the coldest season were not suitable for the survival of D. citri.
ConclusionThe result of this study can provide a theoretical basis for the early warning and scientific formulation of prevention and effective control of D. citri in Yunnan, so as to solve the problem of D. citri spreading Huanglongbing disease.
