PurposeCraibiodendron yunnanense is a folk medicinal material of the Yi Nationality. By studying the effects of different treatments on root propagation, the technical system of root propagation of C. yunnanense was established to solve the problem of seedling propagation.
MethodBy comparing the effects of different root’s length and diameter, different kinds and mass concentration of growth regulators on the sprouts formation and growth of C. yunnanense root, a technical root propagation system of C. yunnanense was established.
ResultRoot length and diameter had a great influence on the formation of new sprouts. Sprouts induction rate was lower when root length was 5.00 cm and root diameter greater than 4.5 cm. Different plants growth regulators in types and mass concentrations had a significant difference in new sprouts formation and quality (P<0.05).
ConclusionThe best root propagation technique is as follows: root 1.50 cm≤diameter≤4.50 cm, length≥10.00 cm, the best combination of plant growth regulators are 2-ip 2.00 mg/L+TDZ 0.50 mg/L+α-NAA 2.00 mg/L. The technique of establishing the root propagation system can guide the breeding of C. yunnanense seedlings.
