Control of Tobacco Black Shank Disease with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens YN48 Combined with Fungicides

  • PurposeTo understand the potential of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens YN48 to control tobacco black shank disease.
    MethodBased on YN48 application, YN48 (5.1×107 CFU/mL) suspension, 80% dimethomorph WG (ai. 800 mg/kg), 50% flumorph + phosethyl-Al WP (ai. 625 mg/kg), 68% metalaxyl-M + mancozeb WG (ai. 680 mg/kg) and 25% bromobacterium nitrile ME (ai. 250 mg/kg) were sprayed 3 times at the beginning of the disease with 7 days intervals.
    ResultsThe control effects were 85.42%, 62.22%, 86.91%, 86.94% and 54.57% after 7 days and 77.46%, 46.10%, 77.24%, 80.09% and 46.83% after 14 days, respectively. YN48 spray only did not show significant difference from flumorph + phosethyl-Al WP and metalaxyl-M + mancozeb WG (P>0.05). Besides, YN48 prolonged 8 days of growing period, recovered 23.02% of commercial tobacco yield and 28.41% of cash income.
    ConclusionBased on the application of YN48 at seedling stage, YN48, flumorph + phosethyl-Al WP and metalaxyl-M + mancozeb WG could control effectively black shank of tobacco at the beginning of the disease.
