Notes on Pompilini from Yunnan Province, and Descriptions of Two New Record Species from China (Hymenoptera: Pompilidae)

  • Purposes To update the taxonomy of Pompilini from China.
Methods Using the traditional methods of taxonomy and referring to a number of literatures, these specimens of Pompilini were identified under the microscope.
Results The specimens of Pompilini from Yunnan, China, were studied. There were 10 genera, 15 species and 2 subspecies involved. One species and one subspecies recorded from China for the first time were described and illustrated: Agenioideus takahashii Shimizu, Atopopompilus daedalus daedalus (Bingham). And 10 species and 1 subspecies from Yunnan were reported for the first time. A key to the genera and species from Yunnan was provided.
Conclusions The results had important theoretical value and provided evidence and reference for the taxonomy of the Pompilini from China.
