PurposeDifference of volatile chemical compounds of different length cut stem were investigated in order to provide a reference for exploring the effect of cut stem structure on the stability of cigarette quality.
MethodCut stems were screened using cut tobacco shaker separator. The volatile chemical compound contents of different length cut stem were determined. Single factor variance analysis and regression analysis were conducted.
Results(1) There was significant difference (P<0.05) and regular variation in content of each volatile chemical compound about different length cut stems. (2) With the decrease of cut stem length, the total content of volatile organic acids increased linearity, the total content of volatile aroma compounds and two kinds of volatile chemical compounds presented an increase trend of a parabola type.
ConclusionThere were significant differences in content of volatile chemical compounds about different length cut stems. Therefore, improving the blending uniformity of cut stem had great significance for stabilizing cigarette quality.
