PurposeTo understand the feasibility of tobacco endophytic bacterium to promote the growth of tobacco seedlings and to control tobacco black shank.
MethodAn endophytic Bacillus amyloliquefaciens YN201448 (YN48) was added to tobacco seedling substrate, its growth-promotion effect in different mass concentrations of nutrient solution and colonization abilities in the substrate and tobacco seedlings were tested and its stability was measured when it was mixed with organic and inorganic compound fertilizer as a bio-organic and inorganic compound fertilizer and stored at different temperatures and humidity conditions.
ResultYN48 could survive well in different nutrition liquids, and tobacco type plant height, maximum leaf width and fresh weight above ground parts increased 30.51%, 25.35% and 51.83%, respectively, in the substrate with 1.0×107CFU/g. YN48 colonized in 45-day-old tobacco seedlings with the colony number root> stem> leaf and 104-105 CFU/g fresh weight of root. After 1 year, the viable cells remained substantially unchanged in 30%, 40%, and 50% water content matrices and in 15%, 20%, and 25% biogenic compost at 4 ℃, room temperature and 37 ℃.
ConclusionYN48 can be mixed with seedling substrate with different water contents into bio-functional seedling substrate to promote the growth of tobacco seedlings, also can be mixed with organic and inorganic fertilizer into a bio-functional compound fertilizer to reduce the dosage of chemical fertilizer.
