Panchaetothripinae Species from Guizhou Province and Newly Recorded Species

  • Purpose In order to enrich the Panchaetothripinae species, to study on diversity of thrips in Guizhou Province and to provide some information for the pest thrips management.
    Methods Thrips are found by beating flowers and green leaves over a small plastic tray and prepared into canada balsam on a glass slide in the library.
    Results Checklist of 10 genera 13 species was provided, and the morphological character of newly recorded species from China Caliothrips quadrifasciatus was described. Nine species were newly recorded from Guizhou Province, Anisopilothrips venustulus, Copidothrips octarticulatus, Helionothrips aino, Helionothrips cephalicus, Helionothrips mube, Helionothrips parvus, Monilothrips kempi, Phibalothrips peringueyi, Rhipiphorothrips pulchellus, together with Caliothrips fasciatus and Helionothrips errans recorded from references, 15 Panchaetothripinae species were listed and the characters of newly recorded species from China was described.
    Conclusion We recorded 15 species belonging to 10 genera of Panchaetothripinae from Guizhou Province, including a newly recorded species Caliothrips quadrifasciatus (Girault, 1927) from China, and 9 newly recorded species from Guizhou Province.
