The Farmer’ s Land Emotion and Its Dual Function in Land Expropriation

  • Emotion is a kind of relatively stable and profound feeling and experience of human beings and it is usually related to whether people’ s needs are met. Farmers’ land emotion is a kind of sustained and stable inner psychological experience, which refers to people’ s long-term possession and using of land, and which formed in the process of providing employment, income and social security for people. In the practice of land expropriation and land circulation, land emotion has an important impact, but it has been ignored in varying degrees. Based on the field investigation and literature review, this paper expounds the connotation of land emotion and its transformation mechanism in the process of land expropriation, and further innovatively analyzes the role of primary land emotion and secondary land emotion. This research shows that farmers’ land emotions do exist and will further affect farmers’ land actions. Therefore, farmers’ land emotions should be incorporated into the relevant policy formulation and implementation process, so as to better promote the farmland acquisition and transfer, and promote the coordinated development of urban and rural economy.
