The Effect of Medical Policy on the Training Willingness of the Rural Elderly by Mediating Effect Model with Regulation

  • In recent years, China has constantly advocated vocational training for rural farmers, with rural residents who certain labor abilities as an important object of training. However, no more people would reluctant to training. Through field research and development, it is found that medical policy is one of the important factors to enhance the enthusiasm of training for the elderly. This paper establishes a model with regulating intermediary effect to study the relationship between age and training willingness of the elderly in Hubei Province. The result shows that age affects training willingness through intermediary effect of labor ability, and under the regulation of medical policy, the influence of age and training willingness will be changed. It is necessary to establish a good training atmosphere in rural areas to help the rural elderly with working ability and willingness to reemploy. We suggest that: (1) Local government should promote elderly health care benefits in rural areas; (2) it should be attracting the capital into rural service market and strengthen the capacity of rural basic-level health services; (3) according to the age and physical ability, the training should be formulated with different contents; (4) establish rural re-employment methods for the elderly.
