A Study of National Identity in China in the Treetops

National identity is a real problem facing all countries in the era of globalization, and it is related to whether the Chinese nation can maintain a long-term peace and achieve the great rejuvenation. This paper takes China in the Treetops, Mr. Liang Heng’ s collection of special political essays on forestry, as the research object, and combines with Report to the 19^th National Congress of CPC to discuss the national identity conveyed by the book. The research shows that China in the Treetops conveys the thoughts of national identity from the aspects of Chinese history, ethnic unity, the state of the army cherishing the people and of the people supporting the army, protection of ecological environment, construction of beautiful China, and education of patriotism. The research also shows that the construction of human forest is helpful to strengthen national cohesion and enhance the consciousness of national identity.
