The Influencing Factors on the Demand for Home Care Services for the Elderly in Communities:Based on a Survey of 261 Residents in Four Districts of Hefei in Anhui

  • With the deepening of China’ s aging, the community elderly home care as a new public welfare pension model has attracted the attention and research of the government and various service subjects. On the basis of literature research and field investigation, this paper analyzes 261 sample data of elderly people in four districts of Hefei in Anhui Province, and empirically studies the influencing factors of elderly people’ s demand for home care services in communities and the relative risk ratio between different demands for care services by using multinomial logit model. The research shows that the demand for home care services for the elderly in the community is generally divided into (2.79±0.70), which is in a high demand state. Compared with the choice of smart home service, the elderly age factor has passed the significance test for other service requirements. The more stable one’ s career is, the better one’ s health is, the more one prefers to choose domestic service. The more children there are, the more educated they are, and the less they need medical services and spiritual and cultural services. However, the monthly disposable income of the elderly and the frequency of their children’ s visits have no significant influence on the other three types of service demand. Conclusion provides theoretical basis and guidance for the government and relevant main departments to improve the community elderly home care service system.
