The Factors Influencing Farmers’Willingness to Produce Environmentally Friendly Products under Climate Change

  • As the main body of agricultural production, peasant households play an irreplaceable role in the process of coping with climate change. Based on the field survey data of 160 peasant households in Jiangsu province, this paper analyzes the factors influencing peasant households’ willingness to produce environmentally friendly products under the background of climate change by using binomial Logistic model. The results show that: (1) the annual household income of farmers, the communication status with other farmers, the climate change status in recent three years, the cognition of the impact of climate change on agricultural income and the number of labor force have passed the significant test of 1% and 10% respectively, and the direction is positive; (2) the cognition of age, household debt and the impact of environmental protection on agricultural income was tested by the significance test with a statistical level of 10%, and the direction was negative. Finally, some suggestions are put forward to further enhance the willingness of farmers to produce environmentally friendly products.
