The Combination of Medicine and Maintenance: Reflection and Reconstruction of the Practice of Providing for the Aged in Rural Areas

At present, the traditional pension model in rural China is facing unprecedented severe challenges. Under the guidance of the party and the state, the mode of medical care combined with pension service has developed rapidly in our country, but it has exposed a series of problems. Based on the analysis of the realistic dilemma of the traditional pension model, this paper points out that the practice of the combination of medicine and maintenance in rural areas urgently needs to solve the problems such as the lag of the knowledge level of infrastructure and talents, the difficulty of relying on the insurance system, the restriction of the traditional concept of providing for the aged and so on. This paper explores the mode of medical care combined with old-age service in rural areas from the aspects of strengthening infrastructure construction and personnel training, improving the dependence of insurance system, speeding up the marketization of rural medical care, changing the traditional concept of providing for the aged, and so on, so as to really realize the vision of " a sense of security for the elderly”.
