The Present Situation and Problems of the Cross-border Marriage in Yunnan: Investigating the Daguang Village of Mengla County

It is significant to conduct field surveys about the cross-border marriages in the border area between China and Laos, so as to figure out problems and reasons of the phenomenon and of our current corresponding law system, which, in turn, offers evidences and catering solutions to construct regulations for villagers in the area involving cross-border marriage. Through investigations of the cross-border marriages in villages of Mengman Town, Mengla County, Yunnan Province, this paper aims to research the current situation among the villages bordering Yunnan and Laos, analyzesa series of social and economic problems aroused in stability and development of the border area, so as to offer determination support for solving issues related to cross-border marriage and in turn construct harmonious border living environment.
