The Effects of Interaction of Morning Exercise, Sleep and Mood State on Classroom Attention Behavior of University and College Students

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between morning exercise, sleep quality and mood state, and the interaction between the three groups and college students' attention behavior. The Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) and Profile of mood states (POMS), conducted a questionnaire survey on the 30 freshman of the civil engineering specialty of 2016 grade in Yunnan Agricultural University. The research collects data through classroom observation for the class attention behavior, and then makes further analysis on the impact of morning exercise, sleep quality and mood state on the college students' attention in class. The results of the study reveal that intervention in the experimental group played more important role than that in the control group, the former classroom attention behavior was more significantly stronger than that of the latter, the difference was statistically significant. Morning exercise can improve the sleep quality of college students, morning exercise, sleep quality has significant effect on the improvement of the state of mind; the improvement of the state of mind was directly related to the attention behavior of college students, there was a significant positive effect on classroom attention behavior; to improve students' attention in class, improving the state of mind can be used as an effective way.
