The Regional Difference of Poverty Population in Yunnan Province

  • Yunnan Province is one of the provinces with a large number of poor population in China, and after years of efforts, the poor population of Yunnan Province has been substantially decreased. However, the poverty alleviation is increasingly difficult, and the characteristics of the uneven distribution of poverty population is increasingly obvious. This paper will focus on research and analysis gathered phenomenon of the poverty population at this stage in Yunnan province area, through poor concentration index measuring concentration level of each city in Yunnan province, it can be divided into poverty concentrated areas and poverty not concentrated areas, on this basis, it selects Zhaotong city and Diqing city as a representative of the Yunnan high concentrated areas of poverty, Qujing and Wenshan city as a representative of the low concentrated areas of poverty, Kunming and Yuxi city as a representative of the deconcentration area of poverty. According to the four aspects:three industries development, investment in fixed assets, the per capital disposable income and urban and rural gap, we will compare and analyze the differences between poverty concentrated areas and poverty not concentrated areas, and put forward measures and suggestions of regional poverty alleviation.
