The Impact of Farming Indigenous Knowledge on Diversity of Indigenous Rice Varieties in Hani Terraced Field

Abstract
Indigenous rice of Yuanyang Hani terraced field in Yunnan province can be reserved for a long time and not be eliminated,which is closely related to the Hani farming practices for thousands of years, Hani people has accumulated a lot of farming wisdom in order to adapt to the local unique ecological environment. These knowledge and habits directly affect farmers's rice selection and cultivation process. This study chooses households farmers for interviews and investigation, the surveyed regions covered 24 villages in Yuanyang Xinjie town, indigenous rice status, agronomic characters, yield, illness, loss situation, farmers' production situation, farmland management and process and farming methods etc., were surveyed. Through a variety of statistical methods to analyze the relationship between landrace diversity and management mode of Hani traditional agricultural, raditional customs, farming knowledge and agricultural practice experience. Through the analysis, there are 8 indicators of farming indigenous knowledge associated with the rice landrace diversity, traditional product acreage proportion, seed treatment, seed acquisition mechanism, selection on the basis of the four factors, were further identified, which provided theoretical support and basis for the sustainable protection strategies of Hani terrace landraces diversity.
