Teaching Model in Developing Students' Pragmatic Competence in the Multi-media Environment

Abstract
Developing students' pragmatic competence is an essential task in foreign language teaching, and how to foster students' pragmatic competence is a concern in the field of language acquisition. In this paper, the authors study the teaching model in developing students' pragmatic competence in the multi-media environment. This model helps to increase the input of the target language, which can help students to overcome the shortage of real language context in the situation of English studied as a foreign language. Additionally, it can generate students' motivation to acquire and construct the pragmatic knowledge initiatively, so as to improve their pragmatic competence. This study also provides a new approach in teaching students appropriate oral English.
