A Study of the Present Development of Non-universal Languages in Universities of Yunnan Province in the Context of Globalization: The Development Patterns of Non-universal Languages in Yunnan Agricultural University

  • Up to January 2014, 43 universities in Yunnan province have opened 62 minority language specialties, among which there are 30 in 24 universities and 32 in higher vocational colleges.There are 26 Thai, 7 Lao, 11 Burmese, 16 Vietnamese, 2 Cambodian.Among them there are 11 specialties which are provincial key construction.Because these minority language specialties are newly-established, these universities are confronted with all kinds of opportunities and challenges in terms of development patterns.Therefore, in the context of globalization, how to make these minority language specialties in universities of Yunnan province, such as Yunnan Agricultural University, improve its level, quality and development is the key to the development of non-universal languages and economy in Yunnan province.
