A Study on the Formation of the Sino-Vietnamese Words Borrowed from Japanese in Vietnamese:The Transmission of Sino-Vietnamese Words Borrowed from Japanese in the Revolutionary Literature from the End of the 19^th Century to the Early 20^th Century

At the end of 19th century and early 20th century, China and Vietnam have witnessed huge social changes which motivated the spread of language. Vietnamese extensively absorbed and spread a large number of Chinese vocabulary borrowed from Japanese through Chinese books and other forms of reading materials. Thus, Sino-Vietnamese words borrowed from Japanese were formed. This article is aimed to study the formation background and path of Sino-Vietnamese words borrowed from Japanese in Vietnamese based on some corpus of the revolutionary literature in China and Vietnam. Through the study the author finds that there are a great deal of Sino-Vietnamese words borrowed from Japanese in Vietnamese which are distributed in variety of fields. The study on the transmission of Sino-Vietnamese words borrowed from Japanese in the revolutionary literature can make people know formation of the Sino-Vietnamese words, promote the research and study on it, thus enhancing people' s understanding of history and culture of China and Vietnam.
