The Study of the Impacts of Urbanization to Private Car Holding Quantity in China

The urbanization construction laid the groundwork for the new type of urbanization, private car holding quantity increase rapidly in China along with the development of the new type of urbanization. This paper selects urban per capita disposable income, the urban population, as well as per capita consumption expenditure of urban households as the explanatory variable, and applies Eviews 6.0 to econometric analysis. Finally, it is concluded that urbanization has a significant influence on private car holding quantity in China, urban resident's disposable income and the urban population are the main influence factors. According to the empirical results, relevant policy suggestions are puts forward, and it holds that strengthening the construction of infrastructure facilities and traffic management, encouraging the use of public transportation and improving the urban public welfare are the effective measures to solve the rapid growth of private car holding quantity in the current new urbanization.
