The Brief Analysis of the Foreigners Who Were Travelling and Working in Yunnan in Late Qing Dynasty and Early Republic of China

  • In Late Qing Dynasty and Early Republic of China, Yunnan was the place where appealed to western missionaries, diplomats, business men, scientists and explorers to travel, to explore, to do missionary work and to investigate. The acts of main foreigners, who were English and French in Yunnan, included mission, and establishing consulates, customs, companies, and science investigating, and building railway, and technology service, which served for the colonial strategy and the geopolitical competition between Great Britain and France in Yunnan province.
