Abstract
This study provided a comprehensive assessment of the current status of China’ s tea industry and its multidimensional contributions to regional economies. A mixed research methodology, combining qualitative and quantitative approaches, was used to analyze both the direct (such as GDP, tax revenue, and farmers’ income) and indirect (such as tourism promotion and cultural preservation) contributions of the tea industry. The research found that, China’ s tea industry had been continuously expanding, with widespread regional distribution, active trade, and diversified market consumption trends. The tea industry not only significantly boosted local GDP growth, increased government tax revenues, and raised farmers’ income, but also played a crucial role in promoting employment, cultural preservation, and environmental protection. However, the industry also faced challenges such as intensified market competition, frequent natural disasters, and uncertainties in international markets. To address these issues, the study proposed strategies including strengthening technological innovation and brand development, improving risk management and emergency mechanisms, and deepening international cooperation, aiming to promote the transformation, upgrading, and sustainable development of the tea industry. This study provided valuable insights for policy-making, industry practices, and academic research, and had the potential to support the high-quality development of China’ s tea industry in the context of globalization, further enhancing regional economic prosperity.
